100th Day Activities

After a couple of delays we were finally able to celebrate 100 days of kindergarten!!! During read aloud we read Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of Kindergarten. We began our day with a coloring sheet that had 100 items. During math we used 10 frames to count out 100 pieces of cereal and then used them to make an edible necklace. We sorted and were able to practice counting by 1's and 10's while snacking on a yummy necklace. We are still looking forward to making 100 day crowns!

Guided Reading

During guided reading groups students participate in a picture walk (book introduction), individual reading of the text using previously taught reading strategies (whisper reading), and word work. In this picture students are searching for, and highlighting, sight words from the text as part of their word work. The excitement for learning how to read in our classroom is astounding, and so much fun to be a part of!!
